SmartMAP.com was created by its parent company, Thompson Mapping Systems, Inc. (TMS), originally of Dover, Delaware, in 1995. TMS has been creating maps since 1977. Through SmartMAP.com, TMS is a leader in computerized Land Use Planning and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Computer Mapping. SmartMAP.com has created and hosted Internet Mapping sites known as SmartMAP for the Delaware Aglands Preservation Foundation, Kent County and Sussex County, Delaware, and the City of New Castle.
